UN RCO-Papua

Welcome to the web page of the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (UN RCO) in Papua. The largest province of Indonesia albeit with the sparsest population, Papua is rich in natural resources and enjoys a high GDP growth rate. Yet, the province faces a number of chronic challenges including poverty, vulnerability to conflict and inadequate access to health services.

This web page documents the work of the UN in Papua to assist the communities, government and partners of the province in together achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and overcoming their vulnerabilities in a sustainable way. We aim to accomplish, as One UN, the governor’s vision of fellowship, harmony, peace and security in a Papua that “ultimately becomes an example and provides a model for other provinces”. Check this page often for updates, news and information on the work of the UN in Papua.
